Extra Brut

Champagner Geschmacksrichtung, mit einer Dosage, bzw. einem Restzuckergehalt von 0-6 gr/L.. Extra Brut ist eine sehr trockene, bzw. herbe Geschmacksrichtung. Der Geschmack ist in keiner Weise adstringierend.

It is not primarily the residual sugar content that is responsible for the taste sensation, but the amount of acid present, in harmony with the sugar and the fruit. Furthermore, it depends on how the existing acid is integrated.

It is a misconception that dry wines or champagnes taste astringent. Good Extra Brut champagnes are always balanced, can be fresh in taste, but balanced round. The decisive factor here is the interplay between sugar, fruit and acidity. This is what distinguishes a good champagne.
