Drappier Champagne
Drappier Champagne
THE CHAMPAGNE PRODUCER DRAPPIER WAS FOUNDED IN URVILLE IN 1808. HIS CUVÉE IS THE GRANDE SENDRÉE.
DRAPPIER IS AN INDEPENDENT FAMILY BUSINESS.
The family settled in Urville, in the centre of the Côte des Bar, in 1808. Today they run a vineyard of 40 ha. Charles de Gaulle, who was a knowledgeable gourmet, came as a neighbour from Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises to enrich his wine cellar with our best cuvées. The vineyard, planted by the Romans around year one, was one of the first to be grafted by the Cistercian monks of Clairvaux Abbey. Saint Bernard certainly contributed to the construction of our 12th century cellars. The cuvées full of character that are currently maturing there travel to the best tables of the five continents. The DRAPPIERS vineyard extends over 75 hectares and thus represents the essential basis for the typicality and balance of the house's cuvées. Since 1808, the family has known how to select the best plots of land, well oriented and extremely calcareous, which produce particularly expressive and aromatic wines. The outstanding "crus" of DRAPPIER Champagne are URVILLE, BERGERES, BOUZY, AMBONNAY, MAREUIL-SUR-AY and CRAMANT.
