It was in Cognac that Jean Baptiste Lafitte's "Beautiful Idea" was born in 1848. The brand Charles Lafitte & Cie quickly made a name for itself in the wine and spirits business and experienced its heyday in the crazy 20s. Countless champagne houses turned to Charles Lafitte & Cie to teach them the "spirit of cognac" for making export liquors. However, one had to wait until 1983 for the first bottles covered with black silver paper to appear on the European market. Still the undisputed leader among connoisseurs, the house Charles Lafitte acquired the champagne house George Goulet in 2003 - for the 20th anniversary (1983 - 2003) a really nice birthday present. The house develops elegant and very balanced Champagne. The traditional combination with Chardonnay wines has undoubtedly contributed to the success of the house. This is how the typically fresh and sparkling champagnes are obtained, which enchant the palate. Contemporaries and passionate connoisseurs of wine, Jean Baptiste Lafitte and François André Goulet, both of whom were committed to the highest quality, would certainly have liked to have met. Reunited today - 150 years later - they would surely proudly present Charles Lafitte's 1834 range. The 1834 range, in honour of the old tradition, adorns itself in a revolutionary way with the very best champagnes to conquer the 21st century. This is not least thanks to the excellent work of the only female cellar master of her generation in the ChampagneSabrina Roussel, who is constantly working on the further development of the Charles Lafitte 1834 style. Since February 2004 Marc Veyrat - awarded 3 Michelin stars - is an ambassador of the house Charles Lafitte 1834, true to his enormous ambition for the highest quality and as a creator of inventive and refined culinary arts.
